What makes Living Wage On-Up unique?
Living Wage On-Up certifies U.S. employers that pay their workers and contractors a living wage based on real costs of living. More than that, we create a community through social media, telling the positive stories of those whose lives are affected by higher wages. We join in solidarity with all of you who believe that hard work should ensure a decent living, and celebrate the employers, investors, and organizations who are leading the way.
Living Wage On-Up is uniquely positioned to lead on national living wage certification, drawing on our own experience and lessons learned from years of working on living wages globally with standards and certification systems, researchers, civil society organizations, and companies and supply chains across multiple sectors. Our founders were part of the multi-certification community that marshaled in and lead the Global Living Wage Coalition (GLWC), whose work is having a positive impact on millions of workers around the world.
Living wages build and demonstrate respect by rightly valuing the societal contributions made by those that create and maintain the fabric of our communities. Our strategy unites people around this common, positive, message. In an increasingly polarized America, it is a bipartisan strategy appealing to both employers and good, hard-working people from all corners of our great country.
